In my experience, most students don’t have a professional resume or CV (a CV, or curriculum vita, is an academic version of a resume that focuses on academic experiences, accomplishments, etc.). I encourage all of my students to not only have a CV, but to update it immediately with any relevant information (e.g., new conference presentations, awards, etc.).
